Differences between JS6 and JS700s?

Well they're both mahogany w/out trems, right? Any other differences? I'm guessing the 700 was a Korean-made model by the "00" ending instead of the "000" ending. But is the 700 any good?

Some 700s were Japanese made.

JS6 - Fred and PAF Pro pups, maple neck, unfinished body

JS700 - P90 pups? and a mahogany neck? finished body?

Loved my 700, but prefer the Japanese models cause I don't want the "Joe Satriani" inlay that the Korean model has. Japanese has "JS Custom" for the inlay

My only complaint would be the 700 has the back of the neck finished(same finish as the body). Plus if you change all the strings at once you gotta be careful cause the bridge can fall off very easily if your not careful!

Can you go a little more into detail about the bridge falling out? I'm not getting it. And since I'm getting a JS700 in the mail in the next few days, I'd like a heads-up!

The JS700 has a bridge comparable to a stop-bar tailpiece on a Les Paul. It's held on by the tension of the strings. Of course if you relax all of the tension at once, it'll come off. It just slides onto the mounting posts. Usually though, it's not the best idea to change all of your strings at once anyway, but it only takes a second to pop the tailpiece back into place if it does come off. Not really an issue.

You could check with TonePros and see if they have locking studs that might fit the JS700's bridge. Apparently they improve the tone quite a bit, too, because it locks the tailpiece more securely to the studs.

Thanks for the advice. I might do that in a few months, when my cash flow situation has improved (and after I chuck two more of my unused snare drums onto EBay).
