Different string gauges for different guitars?
Good morning jemsite!
My question is for people who keep/play with more than one guitar (this excludes different type of guitars, like owning a JEM and a jazz guitar where it would benefit having different gauges).
Currently I have a JS1000BP and planning on getting a JEM7V next week. I have been playing with 9-42s forever and I just tried 9.5-44s and I think that I may very well leave that gauge for my JS
but I would keep 9-42s for my future jem because I kinda prefer the flexibility of 9s. I do like the tone of the 9.5s though.
Do you use different string gauge for your many guitars and if so why?
Keep a heavier gauge to record the rhythms or to train your fingers into playing a heavier gauge altogether in the future?
