Hey guys, I recently recieved a DIY JEM guitar kit that I got from a seller on eBay and thought I would share my build process. I will be documenting my entire process on my website and filming every step I take. You can see my DIY JEM guitar build here.

I know there are a lot of strong opinions about this kit but overall I am pretty happy with the this guitar kit. I will attempt a swirl paint job in the upcoming weeks. I know this is just a Chinese knock-off but it should be a fun project. I will put this kit together with the included parts for now but will probably upgrade the parts later on.

What are your plans with this project? Will it be customized etc?

One of these days we'll all be speaking Mandarin Chinese. There will be no jobs in the US and A, we will all buy cheaply made junk, and eat cardboard pot stickers.

OK, I gotta admit- learning mandarin would be cool! I'd finally know what the take-out guy is saying to me (or calling me )

I have no problem with these kits as long as they don't have an Ibanez logo anywhere on or around them. I think they're a good introduction to guitar mechanics for the beginner.
