dna ?

after looking for the cause of my trem vibration(see other thread in tech section)
i notice that while i was tapping all over the body in search of the cause i found that its solid as hell except right over where the input jack is,if i tap there it sounds as if the paint is not stuck to the body?! so i opened the jack cover and i see it like *mabe a 1/4 inch of wood there! that sucks man *imho.
could the paint be lifting in that area?you cant see with the eye but i hear somthing *wierd

Is it possible that the "Basswood" laminate that is on the VWH's Alder body is separating from the body? *Does the paint seem to be bubbled or anything?

I really don't know how to answer your question, I am just grasping at straws.

I'll bet your input jack nut is loose and you are hearing the washer rattle...Pull the cover and check it out.

The input jacks have a rubber o-ring at the base that keeps them pretty snug, so you may not notice the jack itself being loose. But I'll bet the nut is inside the cavity.
