Easiest way to...

What would be the easiest way to order a specific part (specificly a neck) for the Jem 7VWH if there isn't an authorized dealer in your town, or anywhere near it?

And anyone know an approximation for the costs ?

Re: Easiest way to...

There is not an easy way. Ibanez in recent times has kept pretty strict control over JEM necks. Typically you have to find an Ibanez dealer and order the new neck. But in order to prove that it's going right back on a JEM, you have to give them back your broken JEM neck.

An easier method is to buy one off of our classifieds, ebay, or a custom luthier. Problem is, that method is expensive. Between $250 and $400 depending on the quality and condition of the neck.

I never really liked strict . Teachers, parents...and now Ibanez?

What if it's not a broken neck?

Ibanez will only replace a Jem neck and only for the same model, without a broken neck they won't sell you one.

Re: Easiest way to...

So I need to either a) check classifieds/eBay and such b) get one through a dealer [showing a broken neck of identical model] or c) get one custom made

Re: Easiest way to...

Not showing one, you have to literally give Ibanez the broken neck back for good. It's a way to make sure that JEM trademarks don't end up on crappy modded RGs. It's not perfect, but it does keep it to a minimum.

So your solution if you don't own a JEM with a broken neck, and you just want to pretend some other guitar is a JEM- is to buy one from classifieds or have a custom made replica made through LGM or EKG
