I had typed out something longer but the page crashed when I tried to post...

Anyway, someone else can tell you whether or not it will physically fit. But it won't work on a floating trem. You'll need to either block the trem to dive only (using a block of wood, an over-sized trem block, or a Tremol-no) or use a trem stabilizer (Ibanez Backstop, ESP Arming Adjuster). Otherwise, when you put the guitar into Drop D, the lower string tension will knock the trem out of balance and the other strings out of tune.

Re: EVH D-TUNA Drop Tune on a jem trem

Haven't actually used one, but my understanding is that a "whale tail" style Floyd (i.e. non LoPro) is required. I also thought I've heard that it won't fit even an Original Edge, but I'm much less certain of that.

Regardless, the previous statement about it not working with a floating trem is certainly accurate as well.

You will need to block your trem one direction for it to work. The Tremol-No does a fantastic job at that.
