Question Faded single/middle pickup on the VSBL?

I've seen some Jem VSBL's over the past few months that have the single/middle pickup color faded compared to the others. Has anyone else seen this and know why this happens to some of the VSBL's? Thanks!

Paul

The're made from different materials and the cover isnt waxed like the actual pickup is. ive never seen any HSH guitar where all the pickups had faded equally.

Thanks! Makes sense. Strange how I just notice it on the VSBL and not others (eg. VWH or UV7PWH). I'll have to open my eyes more to notice this. It just doesn't look good on the VSBL (IMO) when the middle pickup is faded more than the Humbuckers. Thanks again.

I agree, its more noticable on the coloured and white pickups than black, i notice it alot on the old FPs and DYs etc with the pink. I think the different colour thing is just a stylish fender sortof thing like how you can buy new faded pickups and knobs.

My 2003 VSBL is the same way. The humbuckers are white and the single is off-white/creme. I've only owned the guitar for a year so I can't say how long it's been that way.

You can get a replacement to match, I might do that with mine.

Not a bad idea. Probably wouldn't bother me that much. But who know until you have one?
