Fair price for Mint GMC and Jem 10th?

Hi, it's been a while since I post here (I used to live here several years ago!)

Here's the thing. I ve got a dead mint jem 10th, and what probably is the cleanest, or as clean as it gets jem GMC (no fog spots, no dings, no chips, no fretwear) only a small NJC.

Unfortunately there is no collectors market for this kind of guitars in argentina, and both this guitars are collectors grade.

I have been off the ibanez market for a while now, and this guitars in this condition dont pop up oftenly, so I dont have a clear idea how much they are going for.

Again, even though there are the ocasional jem 10th or PMC and GMC for sale, they are nowhere near the condition of the guitars I own. This is particularly true for the GMC. I ve never seen a GMC or PMC without blemishes.

So, my question would be, what is the current Price for this 2 guitars. Mint, practically NOS would be an accurate description of the condition of this guitars.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure on the 10th, but a GMC depends as much on the swirl as on the condition. I paid about $5,000 USD for my last GMC, sweet swirl, ok condition...

It's a very good swril, zipper like:

As I said,, aside from some normal scratches in the pickguard, the guitar is flawless, with no blemished at all, of any kind in the picture, aside from the NJC. No wear in the frets, no wear in the hardware, almost no wear in the knobs. It's like its 1993 all over again

I'd say that's worth a good chunk of change. $5000 is not out of the question. Rich is going to be super jealous. He loves the really black swirls.

I have several GMC's I love. I've got a brand new one I don't love. I'd much rather have the great swirl in lesser condition than the average in perfect.

So what are you saying? That's an average swirl or a good one?

Interesting. Seemed up your alley. I'm going to have to see this excellent GMC collection one of these days.

I see GMC and 10th selling starting at $3400 on up if there're in 7 out of ten shape.

Re: Fair price for Mint GMC and Jem 10th?

i ve seen a few swirls that I liked better, but this one is among the best I ve seen for a GMC. GMC swirls tend to be less attractive than others, with huge chunks of discolored green. That is another common condition issue this one doesnt have, discolouring. The colours are, like the rest of the guitar, as new.

But I agree with Rich, choosing between ATD swirls are definitely a personal and subjective taste.

So, what do you a 10th in NOS would be worth?

I also have a UV777GR en very good condition. Perfect frets, freatboard, and hardware. A coue of chips around the edge of the body, but overall very clean. Any idea what those usually go for?

Thanks!!

I'd say $2500-$3000 for your GR

Re: Fair price for Mint GMC and Jem 10th?

I think we should be more generous with the GMC, mainly because everyone knows that is a collector's item, if we look, $ 2,500 to $ 3,000 is the average price of any Jem, including those that are still not as desired, I would say that a fair price is $ 5,000, and more when only 366 were made.

Re: Fair price for Mint GMC and Jem 10th?

I see most JEms selling used from $800-$1800.
Very few used JEMs get over $2000.
