a fault in my VWH vine

I received my VWH yesterday. Gorgeous insturment indeed. I was shocked by the beauty and playability, I couldn't sleep. Anyway, I was comparing the vine with my BFPs and I noticed that something wasn't the same.

The stem always curves right and ends there in the first fret. But on my VWH it goes straight up with a very little curve, almost parallel to the strings and nearly touches the left leaf.

I found this very strange. It bothered me a bit at first but I think it's cool now.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?

BTW it's a March 2002 VWH

I don't think I've ever met a more detail-oriented community than the jemsite one!

Mine is like you say, but if you look at these:

You can see they're pretty much the same. I have a '98 VWH...maybe this picture was from an earlier one? Glen..?

That's true! The 'fault' in the subject is a bit harsh. I didn't exactly mean fault, just a bit different from the usual vine. As I've said ,it only bothered me a bit in the first few hours after I saw it. Now I even like it because it's different. Like a sine wave slowly flatlining as it approaches fret 1.

You won't believe me but I've only played it for a total of 1 hour since I've got it. All I do is put it on a stand, sit back and watch it like a painting for hours. Think I'm crazy??

I've just checked it out.
The VWH seen in the latest NAMM pictures has a similar stem.
