Talking Finally got all the pieces!!

My Donnie copy is finally complete. I got the neck from Monster Guitar Shop. I think it looks pretty good, but while it was being installed and set up the fretboard came off the neck and had to be reglued. I think it looks great, but your opinion certainly doesn't count, so give 'em to me.

Re: Finally got all the pieces!!

Jallen, I guess i should say that it started to seperate at the top near the headstock. My luthier glued it back and it will be fine. There is a a small gap up near the locking nut, might be able to wedge a business card in, but then again maybe not.

Re: Finally got all the pieces!!

Hey -- I really like it! I think that was a great idea to go with something besides dots on a Donnie. That's a "graphic rich" design to begin with, so why not add some spice to the neck?

One question -- you said there was still a small gap near the nut. Did your luthier check for fret level? I assume that Monster Guitar Shop did the leveling when the board was fully glued down, so you may now have some elevated frets (and fretboard) near the nut.

Regardless -- I like it!

I actually really like the diminishing pyramids on that. I think it looks stunning. Well done!

Re: Finally got all the pieces!!

Yes, my guy did do a fret level. He know that these custom neck thing always need a few adjustments including fret hight and leveling over the first year or so of life.

Re: Finally got all the pieces!!

hummmmmm....what can I say....

I like the neck, I love the body.... but I don't like the guitar /:

I think it's because of the random-like (randomly?) pattern on the body
and the very calculated pyramids/inlays that are a symbol of precision

my humblehumblehumble opinion

Re: Finally got all the pieces!!

To each their own, I really like the juxtaposition of the random and more rounded body art with the angular and calculated pyramids. Maybe I'm too deep into this but I'm feeling the contrast.
