first Jem joining the family

Well, I went and did it. My first Jem should be arriving within the next couple of days. (I have to keep my other Ibanez (PGM) happy though, and hope that she doesn't get jealous of her soon to be sister ) I have been lusting after a Jem since I was working in a music store in '92/'93, and the VWH was released. I finally settled on the VSBL (I've always had a thing for blue guitars)

Congrats and welcome to the forum. The VSBL is a great guitar (along with all the other Jems) and I hope to one day own one myself.

Just out of curiosity, is the VSBL front-routed or rear-routed?

Congrats. I'm sure you'll love it. Even though I haven't played one (yet), I know they're great guitars.
Bragging rights came free with your VSBL, so flash it in front of your guitar buddies and make them feel jealous.

Have you gone through the process of setting up the VSBL? I got mine about a week ago and have set up #1 done. It was basically not playable when I got it. I also use different gauge strings. Right now it bottoms out in the upper frets when I try to pull or bend up a whole step, but I think a 1/4 turn on the neck screw will help. Otherwise, it plays very nicely. Rich's set up plays better on my first VSBL, but I'm not an expert like he is. After a little break in I'll try set up #2.

Mine arrived ready to play, luckily. I was really surprised about that.
