Fitting an Edge trem in a 555

I got a Jem555 and i love the neck and feel of it much better than my RGs for some reason. But I absolutely hate the trem so Im thinkin a buying an edge trem, will i have to chop any timber to fit it or will it just slot in, and if i will are their any trems that are better than the TRS that fits straight in
Thx Padraig

The new 2003 Edge Pro tremelo won't fit on older models, so for sure you can forget about that.
I'm not sure about older models though. Maybe you might be able to fit a 2002 Edge or something, but once again, not sure about that.

I'm fairly sure that this has been discussed before and the topics should be still available using the SEARCH facility.

Some folks have been able to fit an Edge trem without routing the bodies others haven't.

Your milage may vary.

I'm not so sure about that. The redesigned Edge trems seem to have a very similar rout as the older TRS trems. Does anyone here know for *sure* that the new trems won't fit in the older TRS cavities?

I think that guide is meant for the 2002 Edge and Low-Pro. They 2003 version will not fit on an older model JEM, so I doubt that it would fit into a TRS cavity.

You've tried the swap then, or at least gotten measurements? I am sincerely interested in the measurements of the new trems, and how they differ from the previous models so could you pass that info along? Thanks in advance.

As far as the guide on Jemsite, Ravager is correct - that applies to the 2002 and prior Edge models.
