I also don't think ibanez would keep track of what steve is currently using coz those things change quickly when things breakdown etc. the only thing ibanez had changed since the 7vwh first came out is the trem and the fretboard, and just recently the bridge pickup to evo2. but the guitar is practically the same guitar since 1993.
The reason is because the old edge' feel much better to play. Not because Steve just had them laying around as spares.
Ibanez should have stuck with what was best IMO.

Re: Fretboard - Maple or Rosewood?

I read somewhere maple makes a more bright sound and rosewood has more of a bass sound. Don't know if it is the truth thou.

Vai doesn't use edge on all his guitars. how come uses Lo pro edge on flo?.. and an edge pro on Mojo? it shows he's not particular about the tremolo system on his guitars. to me, not one out performs the other, I don't notice it. i find the edge a bit bulky. when the fine tuners are all the way up, the arm rubs against it. at least mine's that way..

By "old edge's", I mean anything prior to Edge Pro system.
