Front routed and swirled...

Yes it has been done. *Look on the jemsite.com gallery and you will find some.

Here's for starters:

http://members.nbci.com/jemsite/axes/custom/

Scroll down about 2/3 of the way and look for:

"Ibanez JEM777DY Custom Herc Swirl"

Sorry I cannot post a direct link. *Seems not to work.

Front routed and swirled...

I looked, But I didn't see a Jem with a solid color pickguard there. *What pickguard would go well with a swirl paint job? *Or am I out of it?

All those pics have swirled pickguards on them. That leads me to believe that you could have your pickguard swirled to match whatever paint scheme you want!

Front routed and swirled...

actually most of those front-routed ones have clear pickguards on them. You can see the swirl in the control cavity. I think Darren does camoflage plates these days to make a front rout look like a rear rout.

This one is a prototype front rout swirl and has a black pickguard

edit- cut/paste the link to view... nbci has img tag blockers in place

Oh, I get it, the swirl goes into the cavity and then a clear pickgaurd. *I was thinking it would have to be a solid pickgaurd. *Now thats soooo cool. *It is now on my list of things to do...........someday. *But, how about a vine inlay/rosewood neck? *Will that clash?
