Re: Is this a good buy?

Welcome to Jemsite Ben!!!

are you planning on using the BIN??? If so, I'd ask the seller for a better picture of the screws that hold the nut onto the neck..... It looks like it might have the famous "nut crack" in the pic. If it is cracked and been repaired properly, it's no big deal at all but it does affect the value some..........

Also, I'm sure you know that the pickguard and pickups are not original. That also affects the value some.

$1600 is TOP dollar for a UV777. I would value it at $1400-1500 if there is NO crack behind the nut (considering you'll need to buy parts to make it original). If there is a crack I would pay no more than $1250-$1300 plus shipping.

Everything looks pretty nice on this guitar (from the pics) I know I'd like to own it.

As a side note, posting links to ebay ad's will get you in hot water here on Jemsite (big no no)..... good for future knowledge.... You can always PM someone with item #'s for help on this kind of stuff.....

Because the Jemsite rules state that you can't. You can put item numbers, but no links. Jemsite is not for advertising, unless you're a vendor and have paid to be one. You also can't list items in our classifieds if you have them on eBay. I know that's not the case here, but just trying to help answer your question about eBay links. Hell, we couldn't even type the word "eBay" without the filter blacking it out until recently.

I was lookin at that, that should seriously devalue the guitar if you get rid of the serial numbers on them, thats just my opinion.

Look close, you can see a Serial # in the photo. I assume that's what you're talking about?? A serial number??

Swirled is right....It looks exactly as it should.... Here's a pic of mine for comparison.

As a side note.... the main reason you don't want to post an ebay link is that your creating competition for yourself, therefore (potentially) raising the price of the item significantly. Just look at all of the Ibanez pro's that you've directed to this particular guitar now........lol. Plus all the visitors that read these threads....... you may have added $200-300 to what it will take to win the guitar.....

Glad to help with the info though.....
