Re: To good to be true?

It's a con. Ask him about shipping and you'll get replies telling you he can but he's in the UK on business or some other nonsense. Ask him to pick it up in person and no reply.

Re: To good to be true?

Be extra careful on CL!
In person.
In cash!!!

If it smells fishy odds are it is.
Also try to avoid having people over to your house if you're selling.

I was looking at this also today..I thought it was to good to be also, thanks for confirming Rich. Maybe I will contact this jerk and act like I really want to buy it and send him some Monopoly money.

Re: To good to be true?

Somebody else had sent me the link, when asked about shipping was told he was in the UK etc. I wrote for a pickup, no reply. Kinda expected, smells like a con from 100 miles away.

Anytime you see somebody that knows what they're talking about, and then the price is unrealistic, it's either a typo or a con.

Re: To good to be true?

$800 seems to be the going scam rate on Craigslist these days. Somebody in Houston tried to sell one of my Jems for $800 recently.

Re: To good to be true?

It's a scam, I tried to ask about shipping or meeting him a couple of days ago (a couple of hours after the post was up), and he sends the message just as Rich described: he's in UK and knows a good way to ship it from over there if you send him the money... yadda yadda...

Re: To good to be true?

No go! Just like everyone else said, it's a scam. I talked with him (with the perception that it was a scam because those pics were taken straight from eBay, and are terrible quality) and he tried to spin some bs that he's "out of the country shooting a commercial for th next 6 months, but would be happy to ship, and he couldn't speak on a phone.

And I also thought of the monopoly money idea!!!!

Any way of finding out who these jerks are...? I'd love to start spamming him as revenge lol

Re: To good to be true?

Wow, these losers can't even make up a good lie. Six months to film a commercial? Really? I guess it's a good thing that these people are dumb. It makes them easy to spot.

Re: To good to be true?

For the record.... I check around to keep on top of the market, to date there isnt a readily available chibanez universe model, much less a swirl. Just FYI.

Obvious scammer is obvious as well lol.

Re: To good to be true?

CL scams seem to be half of CL. When I moved to the area I'm in now I had to filter out the D-Nozzles that work (using the word "work" sounds funny but, scamming is a full time job for these jerks) off the apartment rentals area too.
