ground lug?

I remember seeing a wire connected with a small screw/lug to the wood behind the bridge pickup on some ibanez guitars, but not all. I am wonder what this does and where it comes from? Comes from the volume pot?

nope, don't know why. the ones that have (mostly RGs), it's just on the single-coil cavity. some don't even have any shielding paint in the pickups cavities.

but i think this must be moved to the Pickups & Electronics topic.

usually it's so, but not necessarily. you can solder it to any other circuitry components, or directly to the jack ground lug. whichever ground is good.
