Exclamation Guitar swirls....opinions needed :)

Hey guys, so the story is I came across a gmc uv that I wanted badly...but since I didn't have the extra 3,000$ to shell out for it, I decided to swirl my own. So I set out and ordered different parts from everywhere to male my own custom uvgmc. After I swirled a few bodies and got the method down and knew how the paint reacted, I put an ad on craigslist about swirling and I've gotten great reviews about my swirls and many people want me to swirl their guitars. I just wanted you guys to tell me if you think I'm ready to swirl, as well as what you think of some of the swirls ive done! Thanks for reading now I'll post links to pics

Your pictures are way too small to make any sort of determination.

Thanks alot alaskabat!
And jonnyboy mills, I have a guy i know who is a motorcycle painter who cleared the 2 gmc's, and the pmc isn't cleared I like the matte look. I'm actually looking for someone else to do clears for me because my guy is pricey and isn't really used to clearing guitars.

Theres alot of personal taste with swirls, I think the GMC is ok but if it were mine i would want the colours to be thicker streaks. The purple one just needs stronger colours. I would say what you best doing to start with is swirling bodies and then sell them, don't have to worry about getting it wrong for the customer then as they can see what they are buying.

Re: Guitar swirls....opinions needed :)

If I'd paid for a swirl and got one of those, I'd be on your doorstep asking for my money back! As sanitarium said, at this stage you need to be seeliong already finished pieces.

Have a look at some of the other swirls on this site and others and then honestly ask yourself if you're up to the same standards.

I'm not trying to be overly critical, I know folks will do the whole "it's an artform and opinions vary" but you're effectively replicating an already established artform and to ho frank, you're not there yet.
