Has anyone ever had any work done by Chris Woods?

I have commisioned a guitar neck like 5 months ago. I know it takes awhile to make something like this, but I can't even get an email from the guy. I don't even know for sure that he has even started it. I have paid in full already. what do you guys think, have you had any work done by him. Thanks

Like almost every custom shop: bad things happen, so the time quote they give are usually very optimistic. It's a very common thing among vendors that happens. Not to talk right where it's wrong, but just give Chris the time to respond. From the last couple of years of experience here, he seems to be a very stand up guy.

Christopher Woods has his own thread here in the Vendor talk thread. Check it out at:

Cheers mate and good luck.

Sam.

Thanks for the reply Sam. I am holding out hope that I will at least get an email from him. Its already paid, so all I can do is start a dispute with Paypal, but I don't wanna go there. Its a hassle, and a pain. Anwyway, I ahve another week or 2 before the body is done anyway. Thanks

I waited 14 months for mine. Emails were pretty spotty as you have found but his work is good.

yeah, i commissioned a body from him too from his store. i thought it would be a little faster since it should be cnc-able, but i am playing the waiting game too. i actually don't mind though because he does seem to deliver eventually.

I don't mind waiting for quality work, I just want to know where its at so I can make my plans. Thats all I ask, some communication.

Re: Has anyone ever had any work done by Chris Woods?

I bought a body off him from the bay last year, so you would think it was a finished ready to go body.... but it took almost a month to get him to ship, I actually had to get after him and piss and moan. I think he's that busy that it causes the little or no communication thing. In the end he did deliver a superb JPM body. I know what you mean though, when I've paid in full, and people just blow you off, I don't deal with that well, and it makes it real tough to deal with that person later on another project. Overall, I'll bet you'll be very pleased with your neck.
