Has Flo replaced Evo:?

If noticed that in recent vids. he uses it more n' more i know that evo's breaking up, with cracks. but he's now got some flourescant tape on the sustainer n all.

That flourescent tape was there for a pretty good amount of time if I remember correctly. Dunno why he chose that green...looks out of place lol. Anyway, like you said, Evo's getting a bit long in the tooth and he probably doesn't want to wear her out any faster so things that he could do just as good with Flo, he probably will.

EVO is stable. She's still good to go. Vai has just been using the sustainer a lot more lately ... same with MOJO. If it were just to replace EVO, it would be EVO II ... which has been getting more use lately too. Vai has said he really doesn't like what the sustainer does to the sound (as a pickup), but sometimes it's a necessary tool.

I prefer the fatter sound of the Breed's, although I still like Evo's. That's why I'm always looking at guitars with Breed's installed.

Yeah, its nice. Plus, it kind of helps characterize their personality. I'd much rather name my guitars than say RGxxx.
