Help. Jem 10th neck advise

I should know this, but the truth is that I dont. I ve had a couple of jem 10th, and still do own one and I have the following question for anyone that had one:

As the neck is completely raw and unfinished, does it requiere regular oiling with tung oil or boil linseed oil evey couple of years or so?

Iīm sure Rich knows the answer (Rich, help!), but may be there are several jem 10th owners who also have tips or the answer regarding how to take proper care of the neck.

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Help. Jem 10th neck advise

The neck is finished. It's not thick but it is clearcoated. [look at the serial sticker]. If it wasn't every single JEM10 that has ever been played would have some serious staining.

Re: Help. Jem 10th neck advise

I have a Jem 10th and can confirm what Rich says, the neck is in fact lightly finished. But, I have to say, I used to own #693 many years ago, and I swear that neck was completely raw and unfinished wood....I remember that being a real attraction to me at the time...I no longer own the guitar so I can't prove this, maybe the new owner will read this and confirm, or maybe the guitar was previously stripped of it's neck finish by the first owner (I bought it used thru Rich)....or maybe we'll never know. But regardless, the 10th neck is a beauty!
