Help Need new Guitar

Im looking for a New guitar, Ive never really had a decent guitar before.
I like the thiness of the wizard necks, i also like the shape of jem guitars.
I want a guitar with great intonation. Good action.
I only want to spend max 1500$
I dont think i want to deal with the floating bridge anymore.

If you don't want to deal with a floating bridge maybe buy a Tremol-no? At least you have the option then of using a trem if you feel like it, yet it will act more like a fixed bridge for easier tuning, restringing, etc.

Get a PGM.

Honestly, you sound like you're in the same situation I was. I got a PGM and never looked back

If you look, you can find Jems pretty cheap. I found one for around 1600, its a little over your price range, but it'll be worth it. Go to bpmmusic.com. The pgm is also a great guitar, but the fake f-holes just aren't for me.

An Ibanez RGA121NTF would fall under your qualifications.

As you have never had a decent guitar (your words) maybe you haven't had a decent trem either!! Try some guitars with top end trems first before giving up on them.At least give yourself options!

+1.. !
a crappy trem will put you off for life !!!
anyting with an edge / lo-pro edge will be superb !
no need to worry about floating trems when you have a pukka one !

+1 !

Poor trems are nothing short of a giant pain in the ass but good quality ones just add to your options whilst playing.

Re: Help Need new Guitar

Agreed, there is nothing wrong with a properly setup, quality trem.

My thing is that I messed about with the damn thing, doing stupid squealy(?!) divebombs and stuff. BUT, when I felt how nice it was to have a fixed trem when bending and playing heavy chords, it converted me. Don't get me wrong, trems are great and you should always have at least one guitar with a quality trem on, and by the same token I think every player should have a good guitar with a fixed bridge.

And it's a good excuse to have more guitars!

First of all are looking for a guitar with trem? Should be locking or non-locking?

Regards

André
