HELP PLZ! jem

I am having an issue I cannot figure out. I have good relief (.04mm) good nut height (even slightly high). my action is 1.8 mm on high e (very clean), and 2.5 on my low e (which is very high in comparison to my high e). I have 9s on (strings).

My problem is that the low side is getting a lot of buzz... I don't know what it could be, any help would really be appreciated

Secondly, how significant of a difference would it be if i put 10s on the low side? I know that heavy strings buzz less. Would I notice a significant difference?

Re: HELP PLZ! jem

You may have some high frets. You need a good short straightedge to check. Or a good luthier. Also check to see that the nut is not too low. My test is to fret the strings at the 3rd fret and look at the space between the strings and the first fret. Big space= too high, no space at all= too low. space for a few layers or paper or a business card=about right. Unscientific but it works.
