Hi, and valuation required

Evening

I'm new here, and having just purchased a new guitar, thought I'd ask a little advice. I've just got a UV77MC - it's one of the Japanese ones as far as I can tell, as it's more yellow than some of the others (which I prefer). It's in almost perfect condition, next to no fret wear, and just needs a little bit of a set up which I'll do myself. Amazing guitar and plays like a dream.

So....how much is it worth (I'm in the UK so ££ would be helpful) ? This is really for insurance purposes. I'll let you know what I paid for it later

cheers

Ben

Re: Hi, and valuation required

It's a very subjective thing, some ugly swirls won't shift for £1000 and some really nice swirls might bring up to £1800, it really depends on the swirl.
The thing is with swirls you can never tell - it's worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.
Post a picture and insure it for £1500

Re: Hi, and valuation required

thanks guys, that's most useful information

Here it is:

http://www.vibetronic.com/universe.jpg

Been reading some stuff on this site, and I guess this isn't one of the "desirable" swirl patterns, but I think it's flippin' lovely. Better than that, it is the best playing guitar I've ever picked up, with the best tone. Simply brilliant. I've got one of the Jem 555's as well, a decent one too (seen them slagged off, played a crap one but mine is great), which plays similar to most other Jems I've tried, but this thing knocks the socks off it !

And the best bit was I only paid £500 !!

thanks again - I'll be sticking round this site for a while now I think

Hey Vibe, good to see you around here and good to see you on a 7! Enjoy the thing, mate!

For those of you who've never heard Ben play, he's a f'in' monster on the fretboard.

Dude, you are THE Vibetronic from the intermusic forums and gasfest? The guy who played Sisters on Jemfest UK'03?
You rock my man.
I told Dave Weiner that you are probably the reason his album had a review in Guitarist magazine.
Congrats on the guitar, this great deal couldn't have happened to a more deserving guitar dude.

Hi Drew, thought I recognised you

Dex - yup, on the intermusic forum and the gasfest stuff, but I didn't play at Jemfest, so that must be a different guy

Thats what i say about my Uv7Bk. I got the Uv777GR, but i still kinda play the UV7BK a bit more. it has that 'x factor' to it... But i'd say my Uni's are the best playing guitars i've ever had.
