How many BMR were produced?

I wonder if this guitars may become collectable in the future. Anyone knows how many were made?

You can never tell for sure whats becoming collectable and what is not (the jem BSB, the PBK, the UVPW and the UVGR) certainly meet the requirements to be desirable and rare guitars, yet the dont command very high prices (at least so far).

So, what everybodys take on this?

Rich do you have an aproximate figure about how many were made? Are we talking houndreds or thousends?

Re: How many BMR were produced?

I know they are widely available right now. Im just curius about the total number that were made, cause next year or may be in 2008 they wont be around anymore.

Re: How many BMR were produced?

It is a very iconic guitar and I can see them becoming collectable eventually but not for a while, the resale price will probably go up a little in a couple of years but imo not drastically for a long time. people only want MCs becasue they were so iconic, most non iconic discontinued JEMs arent worth a whole lot anymore and the BRMR is probably the most recognised JEM beside evo..

Unless Glen can get an answer nobody will ever know, but last years import total for HUSA was somewhere around 110, Chesbro would have done well under half that. That's just the US though.

I mean the guitars the Vai plays himself, everyone has seen mojo on G3 and people will want one in a few years since they cant have a new one.

All the more reason for them to become collectible, eh?

Plus I've been noticing a lot more folks seem to have gained an interest in this model where they didn't have it before. (ah lah.....Vsbl)

It's the best playing, best sounding Jem I own! I can't put it down!

Better snag one up folks

Re: How many BMR were produced?

Already did. Today I picked up my Jem77BMR. Traded in an uncased UV777GR + 900USD. I think the guys at the local distributor really got me a pretty good deal.

I havent played it yet, but Im about to start doing so!

Re: How many BMR were produced?

You traded a Uv777GR for a mirror? Whoa! plus 900? I'm partial to the UV777GR. There are just over 300 of those things ( 340-ish ) to have one would be lucky IMO. I might trade on for an RG1527CB but not a jem....lol.

Re: How many BMR were produced?

Keep in mind that:

The UV777GR had some dings and chips, it had no trem cover and no case.

Then keep in mind that the BMR was brand new with case, and that it costs 3800USD list price and 3000USD cash. So, they gave me about 2100USD for the UV777GR. To get a dealer make you this kind of deal is not usual.

I like the tone of the guitar, and I really like the look of the guitar.

With chrome pups and chrome knobs its going to be beautifull. With mirror/black pyramid inlays it would look out of this earth.

Exclamation Re: How many BMR were produced?

3K and 3,800 list?

I paid 2399$ in march...

Anyway, it's a great guitar. I love mine and Breeds rule bigtime. I've really *used* mine, even took it out one day and played at a jam. And it is still mint, not a ding, scratch, anything. So far for the fears of some that the mirror finish was (too) fragile. Anyway, I was considering selling or trading it for another UV, but this one definitely stays and will be played to dust.
