How much are ebony JEM7Vs worth nowadays?

I picked mine up for £850 collected. There's a couple of small dings by the input jack cover, but that's it! I've never been a JEM person, I just hate the fact it screams "IM A HUGE STEVE VAI FAN" compared to the UV which I feel is more understated. BUT, it sounds and plays perfectly to me.

Anyway, I've been contemplating moving it on as I have a 25th on the way and was wondering what it's worth since the rosewood 7V's seem to be going up for around £1250 pretty consistently. Either that, or I'm going to get a new body made.

So how much are the ebony JEMs worth? And what's a 7V body worth by itself?

There’s a 2003 ebony and edge pro on the ebay for £1300 BIN at the moment. I’d say a hundred or so more for the lo pro edge from 2002 or earlier, then modify for condition.

I just bought a really good condition 2000 model for $1550. Probably the nicest used ebony board one I've seen. Shortly after a good but not quite as nice 2001 sold for $1500. Not sure how applicable US sales are?

Roughly itís dollar to pound 1:1 simply because we have less choice and the pound ainít worth what it used to be.

I bought mine a few years ago from Rich as basically NOS, it was a bit more expensive, but on a white and gold guitar, if anything is going to show, itíll show on that colour combination!

I meant more about market prices rather than exchange rate. I feel like US market prices can be lower because the supply of guitars is higher.

That was what attracted me to this particular 2000. This was as close to NOS as I've seen. No chips, no yellowing and no oxidation or wear on the hardware. It didn't move immediately and I negotiated the price down a bit, so I think I paid pretty close to the top of the market ($1550). The one that went at $1500 was nice but had a few minor chips in inconspicuous locations and some finish wear on the bridge. I see player ebony board models in the $1100-1300 range fairly regularly.

I have to say, I have a 2001 that still has the plastic on the pickguard and tremolo cover etc. No patina on the gold hardware or scratch or ding!!! I got it from Guitar Center, used!!!
