I have reached a turning point in life. - It finally happene

About a year ago I bought my UV77MC from the most excelent Mr. Rich. Since I bought it it has been my primary player. It traversed the country during jemfest 2001. It was featured on several tracks that I recorded for national commercials and/or artist's web sites. I have slept with it, polished it, tuned it and even made several adjustments, but I never changed the strings.

It still has the origional strings that Richelle put on it when he/she set it up for me.

Tonight I broke the small b. Tomorrow morning "Oblivion" gets a new set of strings. It will be a first for her since she has been living with me. It is a big event for me and I just wanted to share.

Thank you,

boB

LOL... Those strings were super human. They didn't even get dead sounding. I actually feel sad about taking them off. Either they were blessed with super alloy or I don't play enough.

No! Seriously! I am very excited about this event! Sure, I don't have a life, but damn! I am starting some new songs and I will have new strings too! Plus, Ibanez, my favorite guitar manufacturer, has sent me some warrenty parts for my other UV. I'm ready to rock!

Life is good.

Jeez boB....do you ever change the oil in your car?

If i don't change my strings every 3-4 gigs (every 3-4 weeks) they start poppin' on me like crazy. *A year!?!?!?!?

It's amazing they survived the UPS trip!

Wow, a whole year? The most time I can get out of a set is about a month. If I really stretch it and don't play too often, I can squeeze two months. My UVMC still has the same strings that were on it back in November when I got it. I've honestly only played for about 10-15 minutes. My DNA still has it's original strings. --rvj
