I think I've been had, 555er's help please

Hello all, this is my first post in a few years . . . I was very sadly without a JEM or RG for a long time, but I'm back!

I enjoy building & tinkering with JEM's and RG's for my own personal amusement and pleasure. I recently purchased a 555 neck on E*** and I think I've been sold a counterfeit. Of course, it was difficult to tell in pictures but I would like any other 555 owners to weigh in with their experience.

I'll first say that I've owned 2 555's and this neck appears quite a bit different from both of them. Here are the main difference's:

No Jr on the headstock
Vintage tinted finish on the back, almost glossy
Physical size of the vine inlay section is smaller, as in size of the inlay itself
The studs for the locking nut don't go entirely through to the other side of the neck
Mostly . . . no Serial # or printing on back of headstock

I think I already know the answer, but I just wanted to check and see if any of these things were characteristic of different years of 555's.

It doesn't seem to be of the very poor quality that the Chinese replicas are.

Thanks! Happy Holidays!

I think the best way to tell is to post pictures, maybe the previous owners have "customed" it in some way, I usually can tell by the look of the trem using pictures.

Yeah it's most likely a counterfeit

I will put up some close-up pictures tonight, I'm at work right now.

It's just the neck though, I know what you mean about the trem though

man that's terrible, sorry to hear that, you could possibly get your money back by opening up a claim/dispute on your CC since the item technically wasn't as described, although obv in an ideal world the seller would recognize his mistake and refund you.
