I tried the new tremolo last week

And it works very well!!!...
Hello everybody, I was in Paris last week-end and one of the shop there has the latest ibanez available included the brand new jem vwh with the new tremolo. Ok, it is beautiful and it works but most of all, there's a lot of holes in the back plate, so you don't have to remove the 6 screws to adjust the tremolo angle or to put the new strings... i want one like that ...
On the S serie, the new tremolo looks massive and it doesn't fit the slim aspect of that guitar...
I have the brand new "european" ibanez catalog and we have a new FP available in 2003 (= new picture on the catalogue, new tremolo but I still don't know if it has a "aanj" it's not written).
If someone wants me to give a picture of the "jem line" in the european catalogue i'll send you a scan and someone could post it here in this topic (I still don't manage to put picture in my mails).
It is just some news, and I've never seen a equivalent mail in the jem and universe guitar section lately so I'm sorry if it has been discussed before!!!

Jean-Sébastien.
PS : It's funny to see that the new Steve vai's guitar don't have the new plate that I mention in this topic : http://www.vai.com/Machines/guitarpages/guitar118.html... So, it is really a prototype that we see on vai.com

The Ibanez website also has the FP pictured when I looked at the France site. Has no mention of AANJ, and it has a regular Lopro Edge pictured and mentioned.

Yes, the "french" ibanez site has not been uptated!!!
The new fp has the " new edge pro" tremolo (it is no longer the "lopro edge") that is for sure when you take a look at the picture and the description in the new catalogue (not the online one but the real "made of paper" one) .

Sorry for the dead link : This one will work : http://www.vai.com/Machines/guitarpages/guitar118.html

The 2003 FP has the square heel joint.

I knew that the 2002 fp (lopro edge) had the old neck joint but I've never seen a new 2003 fp except on a catalogue and that's one of the only thing i do not like in the new catalogue ... It 's not precise at all, for example, they don't even mention the type of fretboard. The picture are so small that you can't see it very well. That's ok for most of us who has followed "the jem adventure" for a long time but for a newcomer, a new steve vai's fan they are some missing informations about jem guitars.
JS
Ps : Don 't get me wrong, I know that a jem "vwh" has an ebony freatboard and the "fp" has a rosewood one.

They had an FP at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt. New trem, old neck joint. Pfff, why don't they change it? Is there a reason?

Probably because of the scores of bodys they have which I assume are all over the factory waiting to be shipped. Just an assumption. Maybe rich could shed some light on things

We were told production ended in 00'. Stevie's camp said they were told there was no more fabric left. You find out the "real" answers I'll be happy to listen [but more than likely it'll be more double talk]
