Ibanez jem bsb

Finnaly came yesterday I have been looking for one of these for a long time now i finally have one to add to my small collection.I tried to make one similar to the bsb (in the 3rd picture with the foot lol) but can't beat the real thing.
Just wondering about the serial number my mrs keeps hassling me saying its fake because the body doesn't look as dark as other bsb's I've looked at on here lol I'm sure its not. But i can't figure out the serial I'm guessing is maybe a 95 because of the 5?? but the serial has no 9, its f524834. Any help would be great.

Re: Ibanez jem bsb

The serial number on my BSB is F524962. Produced in 1995 even the Jem specs -7 guitars says Years 96, 97, 98. I am pretty shure your's is real. If the hardware is Pearl Nickel (pretty rare) you can be even more shure.
Here is mine 1995

Re: Ibanez jem bsb

Is the pickguard white?
Or does the pic make it look white even though it's not?

Re: Ibanez jem bsb

yeah thanks have been hunting one of these for the last 6 years, i have a 77fp and 7vsbl also. Yes the pick guard does have the aluminium look. looks a bit different in the picture. Cool thanks for the all the help!!
I was a bit worried that the body may have been replaced with bsb neck and parts, are there any markings on the body that would show if this has happened??

Re: Ibanez jem bsb

Oh cool to hear from another kiwi. I just sold 2 necks and 2 bodies the other week. I brought the parts from et guitars in australia a few years ago, must admit they did a sweet job with the body and vine inlays on the necks

Re: Ibanez jem bsb

Unscrew the neck; neck and body neck pocket must be stamped as "BSB" and maybe a "2" or "second" on the neck pocket.

It's real all the way!

I have one too.
The body just looks like a home job staining was done on it.
I just couldn't tell about the pickguard in the photo.
Is the neck fat on it, mines like a baseball bat?

Re: Ibanez jem bsb

Yeah the neck is quite fat and it does look like a home job lol very similar to the jem body i had purchased and stained myself. I took the neck off today and those markings are stamped on the neck joint, the guy was desperate to sell and didn't contact me at all after i transferred the money regarding shipping tracking etc lol so thought i got scammed! but 6 weeks later it turned up! I only paid $1250 NZ for it so thats why i was doubting if it was the real thing. Thanks all for the help much appreciated!

Re: Ibanez jem bsb

I got my BSB for $900 USD with a UV100C case.
They are way down the popular list, just like JEM7DBKs.
Even though the DBK has the same inlays, the neck is 1/2 as thick!
