Ibanez Js1000 fake or not ?

Ηello from Greece ,

I Have bought a used Js1000 model of 1994 as the seller said...

I am not sure that the model is original because it doesnt have a serial number. As the seller told me according to this link

http://www.gtrmusic.co.uk/ibanez-js1...arl-p-111.html

the 1994 models dont have serial numbers .

My guitar is this

http://smart.noiz.gr/details.php?id=53318

the same like this on the link...

So what is your opinion about that ? Is it fake or not ?

Thank you !!!

It appears to be an older JS 1000 body and a JS100 neck, most of the value of that guitar is the neck fwiw. Doesnt appear to be fake, just not a 1000, thats for sure.

My monitor (or my eyesight in my old age) isn't good enough to make out what the plaque at the 21st fret says (Joe Satriani = JS100 neck, JS Custom = JS1000 neck) or what colour the logo and swoosh are. Remember though the JS1000 has a black headstock, even on the black pearl guitars.

If memory serves, my black pearl JS1000 is a 97 and I'm fairly sure it has a F serial number (I don't have access to it right now but I should be able to check at the weekend.

Correct Juno, My JS100 says Joe Satriani, The first one he posted says: JS custom.
But I can not see his.
In 97 They should have a F ser# for sure.

Re: Ibanez Js1000 fake or not ?

There are MIJ 100's that say 'JS Custom' (the exact same inlay as on the first link) on the 21st, rare but they do exist. I sold one a few months ago, it had the F serial number, and it was black (not pearl, plain black).

aris17561, as far as I can tell, your guitar looks genuine. but I think you should check which years the js line had the lo-pro edge (your trem looks like it) and the 'JS Custom' inlay. I have a '03 1000bp, it has an edge pro, and no inlays. And your bridge pickup looks like it has been replaced.

Re: Ibanez Js1000 fake or not ?

My Ibanez is exactly like that

http://www.gtrmusic.co.uk/ibanez-js1...arl-p-111.html

The bridge pickup has been replaced from the seller with a X2N which I dont like it and i prepear a tone zone... But I want to be sure that this guitar is original and not fake...

So have we concluded that the guitar is original or not ?

The feeling is perfect but I will feel sad if its fake...

The bridge says , licenced under floyd rose patent...

So ask me everything you want until you reach a conclusion...

BTW thank you very much everyone for your help and I remembered to say that the inlay is jscustom and not joe satriani...

Have you seperated the neck from the body, and seen the ink stamp on the both?
Do they match?

They don't necessarily have to match. I've seen weirder things in Ibanez guitars, so that's not written in stone.

The second guitar seems like a legit JS1000 to me and it has the correct neck. the only question that remains is whether or not the inlay at the 21st fret says "JS Custom". If it does, then you've got an added bonus.

Here's the pic of the guitar:

The inlay says JS CUSTOM !!!

So maybe the seller told me the truth that this guitar is original ?

Is it a fact or not that in 1994 Ibanez serial numbering system had not yet been introduced ?

Errrr......a guitar has one serial number,
it's on the neck plate of yours.

The guitar is not fake by any stretch of the imagination.
