Re: Ibanez Unknown Series

Not a JEM or stock ibanez. (might be an actual rg routed out & repainted but the pics are dreadful and headstock refinished). Please post about "fake or not" in the master thread only please... glen

Re: Ibanez Unknown Series

looks like an original '87 RG body with a fake Ibanez neck. the trem is an original Edge, though.

"as fake as the day is long"... of course, it's fake only fake if somebody says it's original. Otherwise just some kind of custom/customized guitar.

Re: Ibanez Unknown Series

RG560 body with a handle cut in it. And an aftermarket neck.

Re: Ibanez Unknown Series

So, is this guitar really that bad?? Cause when i connected it to the amplifier and then enchance it using FX, the sounds turned out to be good.

Or how do I make it to look more original (even though it's still fake) ?? Do I need to buy the parts ? If it is, what parts i need ?

Re: Ibanez Unknown Series

It has a floating trem, and a regular nut. No way can that thing stay in tune as well as with a locking nut. I'd sooner find another guitar than sink time and money in that one.

Re: Ibanez Unknown Series

I'd say it depends on the price. You'll want an old-school RG neck and you should be fine. I guess in the end, it depends on if you're getting an awesome (and I mean AWESOME) deal on the body and trem.

Considering how the trem is mounted onto the body (wrong posts, in the wrong location) and lack of trem arm holder (you can see right through it!) there is no way in hell this trem is going to work anyway...plus the non f-spaced bridge pup is completely out of whack with the strings.

Sorry, but all I can say is burn it with fire.

Re: Ibanez Unknown Series

? I don't think it sounded really awful (to me). Well if i modify it a bit, it should be OK....I think..

F spacing is merely aesthetic.

ikazu, it's probably worth around $75 in parts (for the Edge and pickups). If you paid much more than that, then you really didn't get a deal. If you *did* buy it ( and I hope you didn't), take some pictures of the body with the trem removed. It does look like the posts are too far forward, as if they've pulled out of the wood.

Although others argue that it isn't. Some might say that you do start to lose the definition over the outer strings if you don't get the wider spacings.
