JS 1000 - String Breakages- Help!

I recently purchased a JS 1000 TB - really happy with the guitar - looks/sounds/feels great! - except for one minor (i hope it's minor) snag! The godamm high E snaps all the time! Which is a complete nightmare at gigs as you can imagine! - The string breaks the exact same place - at the saddle leaving a few mm of string in the saddle - so I swapped the saddle around with the B's saddle (which never breaks) and still no change! I'm using 9's - Roto's or D'adds mostly -

Had anyone any ideas on whats causing this!?I've even tried laying of on the high E a bit - but it breaks sometimes just strumming a chord - yet the most strenueous pain inducing face crumpling bend minght do no damage (and visa versa) Sorry if there's a thread on a similar topic - I could'nt find one

Any tips/advice opinions greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you have a sharp edge on the saddle of the e string on the trem. Try a set of saddle singers... savers... sausages?!!? ?!?! or something like that.. little protective inserts for the trem. Failing that take it to your local repair guy and see if he can smotth the saddle for you.

Make sure the trem angle is correct or else you're putting alot of extra tension on the spot the string bends coming off the saddle.

but then, why would the E break? Isn't the G string considered the weakest?

Obviously you're not stretching your strings in enough.

trem angle is pretty perfect - it does seem like the saddle is the problem - but as I said I *swapped saddles with the B and it (which never breaks) and it STILL does - guess maybe it's the 9 goes rather than the 11
