Two Years ago my former guitar teacher tried to tune my JS
1200 and removed the shims of the tremolo, which are needed to adjust the action of the d- and g-string to the radius of the fretboard.
In my opinion it played better, but now, as i want a lower action, i get problems with the 2 middle strings. He also tried to remove the shims under the nut, but installed some of them back (3 shims are there now. Is this ok ?). Yes, you can blame me, but i trusted in his knowledge. I was a fool. Now i have a dead sounding guitar. The lower strings E, A sound dead. I cannot manage a good action without rattling of the strings on the frets. This guitar seems to be completely disadjusted.
Now i want to reinstall the tremolo shims, but they were damaged. Where can i get them and maybe also the nut-shims as replacement parts ?
My biggest wish would be a 'Setup By Rich'. But i live in Austria (Europe) and i think sending the guitar for a setup would be much too expensive. What do you think ?
Please, do help me. Can you give me some advice ?
