JS neck pickup replacement (spacing)

Hi,

I have a question regarding replacing the pickup on the neck position of a JS1000. should the replacement be F-spaced as well? does anyone know about this? the dimarzio website says that F-spaced pickups can be used in the neck position when the nut width is greater than 43mm. but the JS has a nut width of 42mm. but it seems that a stock JS comes with a F-spaced pickup in the neck position....

any ideas, anyone??

thank!

For what its worth, both F-Spaced and regular can be used at the neck

yup, they can... but there are no f-spaced neck humbuckers...
they do only f-space them for the bridge position.
doesn't matter at the neck, really.

or did i get something wrong there again?

hmmm.... actually dimarzio makes all full-size humbuckers available with the f-spacing option. so I'm still trying to figure out which is the right one to fit the JS...

thanks for your input guys!

For neck pickups, f-spacing isn't an option.

No, he's right, you can get *ANY* full size Dimarzio humbucker in F-spaced. Including neck models. In fact, Dimarzio recommends using an F-spaced pickup in the neck if you have a 1 11/16(43mm) or wider nut.

PAF Joe is a neck pickup & is available "F" spaced. Just installed one in a customer's strat. It's not really necessary though.
