JS Series Body Size

I've been trying to figure out (by looking on the Ibby website) whether the JS has the same size body as the S series.

Any help on this?

Is the JS just an S-shape but more rounded?

Is the JS body thicker? I've played an S and I thought the body was too thin for my liking.

I like the idea of the neck pup being in a bassier place, only having 22 frets.

The JS series body is drastically different to the S. If you can't source one to look at, then your best bet would be a google image search to visually compare the two.

I Know these are not the exact models you were looking at, but are a good comparison of body shape - Saber and Radius.

Re: JS Series Body Size

The JS is alot thicker than a Saber in my opinion. Having owned two JS's and had the opportunity to jam on a few Saber's over the years, they are night and day. It's the main reason I never bought a Saber. I hated how thin they were, may have been a trivial reason but to me it was reason enough not to get one.

Re: JS Series Body Size

To get back to the original question,YES the outer shape(outline) of both guitars is the same.

The JS/540R is thin at the top tapering down to a standard width at the bottom as seen above.

The 540S/Saber is thin both sides and squared off at edges, much sharper, thinner look.

A Saber will fit a JS case but will need a little support under the outer edges due to its slim design.

The S is far nicer and cooler than the R IMO,i got into Ibanez because of the S guitar, best body of any ibby for me.

Get one of each.. easy. Dont forget the Saber is mohogany and is drastically heavier than a basswood JS or Radius

Re: JS Series Body Size

Great. Thanks. I'm glad the JS is thicker than the S. I've been having a hard time tracking one down to try, but I will persevere.
