Jeannie Pickguards - are they any good? - Looking to dress u
For some reason the oldest member of my Jem family, this ruff n' ready 1988 DY, came with the pups off a VBK and a perloid pickguard.
Seeing it next to my newer Jems I'm realizing how nasty the perloid is with the yellow finish. I'm really wanting to get a frosted-mirror pickguard (a la the 7BSB) for it and obviously Jeannie is the place to go.
So, can anyone fill me in on the whole Jeannie experience? *Are the screw holes drilled exactly in the right place or do you (ulp!) have to drill them yourself? *Do the pups always fit perfectly or is a bit of filing sometimes necessary? *That kind of thing.
Oh and does anyone have an alternative recommendation besides the frosted-mirror pickguard? *Not black!
PS - Jemsite doesn't like my jpegs, sorry.
