jem 505 edge

Hi
I have a used 505 I just bought and I have no way that I see to adjust the height of the bridge??? its weird like the edge has different posts than normal. This guitar has also been modded with backstop and drop tuna as well. I am not new to these guitars but I am really puzzled as it looks as though there is no hex to the adjustment. Its circle with a circle inside...
Can anybody help here>>. Or am I just going crazy???

Re: jem 505 edge

It is adjusted with Allen keys. (Hex head). Look at the tech section of Ibanez Rules. There is a locking bolt inside the post themselves, you need to loosen those first, then you'll be able to raise or lower the bridge.

Re: jem 505 edge

If it really looks like a circle, someone stripped the adjustments out.

Re: jem 505 edge

Loos like a 3mm hex to me. I can see the straight edges of the hex screw quite clearly in the closeup picture.

Re: jem 505 edge

Those are not the correct studs..... Hell, I don't think they're even from Ibanez. The pics make them look like they're torx-head....maybe a T-25?

You NEED to pull the trem and get those studs out of there. Switch them out with the correct 2LE2B's. Hopefully those studs haven't done any damage to the anchors. You'll only know by pulling them out though.

Re: jem 505 edge

It's sad when a good little catholic girl knows more than you seasoned [OLD] veterans

They're edge zero studs. They used them in all JEM's for a few years, including 505's.

Seriously????

I thought all the new Edge equipped Jem's got 2LE's as well. Until now, I'd never heard any different.

There are a LOT of "good little catholic girls" that can show me a thing or ten............. I'm glad to see that IPCT is no exception......

Re: jem 505 edge

I changed the studs in most of the JEMs I sold to LE studs.

I seriously doubt they're rounded, those are the hardest studs they've ever made.

I was just looking at your namm pics from 2010 and 11. It looks like everything except the VBK had LE's in them. Couldn't tell for sure, but the VBK looks like it has the EZ studs (part#??)
