I'm just wondering... when will people realize that korean quality is going up? you're all acting like people did about japanese guitars in the 70īs and 80īs and I think it's a shame. you're all really making yourselves up as close-minded jerks.

oh, and just to let you know: my project kramer kicks serious JEM ass, IMO

I'm a 555 owner and i can say i'm satisfied with my axe
it's the guitar i started to play with so i can't feel all this disappointment. if you pass from a 7vwh to a 555 it's obvious the trem sucks but it's all about exercise and training. you can't have evolution pickups on rg's such like a 570. bye.

Have I broken some law by putting a set of Evos in my 520?

(They sound great in mahogony, by the way)

;-)

No but if it was a 320 you'd have your fingers revoked.

I was looking at an '03 350 DX at maS hsA yesterday . . . now I know Korean quality is getting better, but still hit or miss, but DAMN, what a MISS that was!

Neck felt AWFUL, frets were level but desperatly needed a dressing . . .

The finish looked, well, ever seen water at the beach during a storm? Well, you know how the finish looked on this guitar . . .

The neck, I can't really say what it felt like . . . I'll just say splooge . . . some will understand, others will be scratching their heads. ;-)

I've never seen a Jem 555 up close, I hope the average quality was better than this, for anyone who has bought one . . . ;-)

I haven't played any 03 555's, but I've played a bunch of 03 Japanese and Korean models. Of the Korean ones, I'd say 25% were, to put it delicately, 'as one would expect.' 50% were quite passable as a main or secondary axe on a budget, and 25% were fantabulous. They're getting there.
