Jem 777 VBK

Hi,

I've been offered to buy a Jem 777 VBK (I was looking for one since a long time). It is not in very good shape and I would like to have an expert point of view if possible.

Here are some pictures (As I'm new I'm not allowed to post images, you need to copy/paste the url in your browser, sorry for the inconvenience)

cns.minithins.net/~truff/guitar/

I'm worry about the cracks near the neck/body jointure. Is this a big deal ?
How much is this guitar in your point of view ?

Thanks very much in advance for your help.

Regards,

Seb

hi,

The owner told me that the guitar has just been refreted.
What about this crack near the neck jointure ? It does not hurt ?

Re: Jem 777 VBK

without seeing it in person i would say not really. it looks like a stress crack. they are common with these older guitars. it will effect the price in your favor. but is not a deal breaking factor.

when he says re-fretted, ask him by who, where, what kind/size of fretwire and how long ago

Re: Jem 777 VBK

i dont know what they go for in france

in usa with a good refret i think $1000 would be very fair if those are just stress cracks and the rest is minor sometics like the scratches and couple small dings.

Did you purchase the one from Craigslist in Indianapolis? It looked pretty nice in the pictures. I really want to get my hands on a 777VBK.

Re: Jem 777 VBK

I have a yellow one arriving today!

A 777VBK is the last one I'm really trying to get my hands on. They seemed to be pretty readily available about a year and a half ago, but have since almost completely vanished from the marketplace.

Wow...I've never seen the neck pocket crack go down then towards the body. I'll be that one is worse than the paint only.
