Jem 777LNG Dilemma

OK, if you have a LNG Jem with an evident serial number on the neck plate, but no signature or hand written # on the body or rear trem cover, how do you about finding what # was issued? It would seem the origins of the guitar are Europe, but the original cover has been replaced at some point.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Re: Jem 777LNG Dilemma

There is no way to derive the issue number from the serial number.

I'm no forensic scientist, but couldn't you use some sort of specialized light to find some trace evidence of the writing? Then once you've discovered what the original number was, you can commission Steve Vai to rewrite it.

Re: Jem 777LNG Dilemma

Does it really matter what number it was? Play the guitar and stop worrying about the signature. Next time Vai comes into town, have him sign it and tell him to write 777 on it

Re: Jem 777LNG Dilemma

Could have the best specialized light on the planet, but if its a different trem cover, its going to take a while ;-)

LOL @ 777 #. Well, my intention would be to ask Steve to re-number, but I cant see him doing it without proof of the original (unless he recognises it from 1988 - there is only 777 of them after all...)
