JEM 7VWH serial number....

Hi,
I've bought the coolest guitar in the world
A 93 JEM7VWH dead mint (the guy who sold it to the shop didn't play guitar at all... what a waste of magical guitars...)
the serial number is F329526
I know the 3 means it's a 93...
but what else can I get from that number ? (I remember reading in a guitar magazine someone giving his fender stratocaster serial and saying "that means it was the XX guitar made on the XX day of year XX"...
And I konw they started to build the 7VWH in 93... so that one could be one the first 100 made of all
so does anyone have a smaller serial number on a 7VWH here ?

Congrats on the early ride, always nice to find one mint. It would have been the 29526th guitar made in 93'.

F323XXX on mine. Our guitars were probably buds on the production line.

I always thought this one must be early, because the pickup screws were all black - I have guitar mag pics of Steve Vai from when he started showing up live with the 7VWH and his are all black too - so I'd figured DiMarzio hadn't gotten around to making gold pup screws by then. Of course, someone could just have swapped them, but that wouldn't make any sense since the Evos (or is that EEvos...) are still present.

If Rich ever updated that crazy HTML parts list I'd try to get some gold replacements.

Now THERE'S some commission to look forward to!

EDIT: Five years later, someone just alerted me to a scammer using my serial number from this thread to legitimize the cheap 2007 model VWH he's sold on evilBay. Zero feedback, wire transfer, the usual. Luckily the buyer realized the number couldn't be accurate for a 2007 and backed out. All the same, I've X'ed out half the serial number in this old post to help prevent this sort of thing.

you might could order those screws direct form Dimarzio. You should call and see if you really want them.

Well, mine is an '01 and the SN is F0105268. So my guess is an '02 would start with a letter (maybe "F", maybe not) as well and then have "02" following it.

They've been using the old sticker for over a decade, I guess they thought it time for a change. Although I like the old one MUCH better.

that is romanticism. there are many improvements done since 93, random quality control issues aside (that can happen any year) ...glen
