I guess it would work, but you'll have an ugly gap between the 22nd fret and the neck pickup...

We've seen pics of a Chromeboy with a JEM green vine neck bolted on there, so I agree it should fit, or could be "made" to fit.

It will fit but as jazzedout points out, there will be an ugly gap showing. Putting the old-school JEM neck on a chromeboy (or other 22 fret guitar) is easier as you just trim off at the 23rd fret slot.

I dont think it would work as you wouldn't be able to intonate it. Remember the JS is 22 frets 25.5" and the Jem is 24 frets 25.5".

So, since both are 25.5" scale, intonation won't be a problem... Even if it was 18 frets, or 27 frets since it has the same scale lenght intonation would be just fine...

Actually, he would be correct, if the heel of both necks came all the way to the end of the fretboard, which, in this particular case, they do not. I believe it's been shown in the past that the overhang on the old school Jem/RG necks is such that the leading edge of the heel ends up in the same spot, relative to the 22nd fret, as a JS's would.

Now an AANJ 24 fret neck, despite having a 25.5" scale, would not intonate on an old-school Jem body, or a JS body, at least not without serious modifications to the heel. Remember, just because a body and neck are both designed for the same scale length, it doesn't mean they're automatically compatible.

Yeap, you're right. The old square heal is in the exact same position on the old Jems/RGs/JS guitars (relative to the bridge) and that is why these are interchangeable. On AANJ you can not do it, you are right...
