Jem Dilemma - Opinions Required - Jem90 or 777dsy?!

Fellow Jemaddicts,

I need your help! *I have been presented with a choice of Jem's. *This guy has a 777dsy and a 90ham for sale, and he's asking $1499 each. *I'm tentative on several issues. *First: *are those exorbitant sums to be asking? *I thought the 90 was a bargain, but I'm unsure about the 777dsy. *Both are in excellent condition. *I could afford one, but only one.

Second inquiry: *How available are those? *If I pass this up am I screwed for a while?

I know, asinine questions to be asking, but I figured you guys could help me. *Thanks in advance!

Take the JEM90HAM, hands down. *No contest. *If it's in mint condition and has the certificate, case, etc...you can't go wrong. *The 777DY is VERY common, and you'd never have a problem finding another one. *$1499 is pretty steep for a 777DY, even if it is in great shape. *Definitely a decent price for a minty JEM90 though.

seems like a good deal for the 90. if you don't like it, you can probably get more for it. as for the 777, I'd pass. those are going for $600-800 used, no way it's worth twice that

If they're both mint as new, then it's a great price on the JEM90, and a pretty crappy price on the 777DSY. *There's a buttload of them to be found on Ebay for better prices, but the JEM90 is a nice deal. *Go for it

Actually if it's MINT as NEW that price is OK on the DY, try finding one MINT. The 90th price is just a little better

Meh........

After seeing the two, I folded. *The 777DSY is a totally MINT '87 with the original case; I've alway's wanted one of the first. *The JEM90 was a no brainer. *I snagged both for $2600. *Oh well, we can always start home improvements later......... *

Now my 7vwy has friends!

Cool thing: *the final transaction total was $2,300.00, so I actually did better than anticipated. *I was content with "my FLO", until I began perusing this site. *I've always loved Jem's; after I bought the 7vwy, It dawned on me that I was ruined for life and from that point on I could only be satisfied with a JEM.

After seeing some of the collections here, I decided, much to the chagrin of my wife, that I would collect these fantastic contributions to art. *So I guess that I have you bastards...er friends to thank for sleeping on the couch last night! *Seriously, great community here, a lot of great minds...pffft.. what do you expect from JEM enthusiast's?

See you around the forum...
