jem dilemna

yes i know second new thread today but as i was restringing my jem and setting the trem one of the screws that hold in the claw pulled straight out as i was tightening it. like it was stripped. this really really sucks. does anyone know how i should go about fixing it as right now i'm pretty ****in pissed and am not thinking straight

You can fill the holes with wood fill. Something that can be picked up at any hardware store. Let it harden and then redrill the hole for the screw and you should be in good shape. If you're not confident with stuff like this you might want to take it to a shop to get the work done.

find a wood dowel about the same diameter..

force glue into the hole

put glue on dowel

stick dowel in hole

let dry

sand down to flush

redrill new hole

im not a luthier, but i am a carpenter and thats what I would do if screws pulled out of a doorframe etc....

You could also glue toothpicks into the hole to fill it. Make sure you give the glue a day or two to dry. I also suggest you use wood glue.
