Re: Jem Food Chain

Welcome to Jemsite. There is no "Best-to-Worst" list. Different people like different models.
You will determine your own list after you spend time researching this site.

Sorry. Prime example of me being a twat. Didn't realise the 555 had black hardware.
That's the last time I try and be too clever.http://www.jemsite.com/forums/images/icons/icon8.gif

Re: Jem Food Chain

In kind of answer I'd say:
Pretty much all Jem7s, 77s, and 777 are the Japanese top quality, there's variation in fretboard type and inlay, finish/paint, neck joint type (AANJ or old school) and trem (Edge, Lo-Pro etc.) and of course availability/rarity (= cost).
Then I guess you'd get the new 505s, Maple dot board and Ibanez pickups but otherwise MIJ Jem (Edge trem).
Then I'd guess it'd be the 555s MIK, Cheaper trem but Dimarzio pickups.

Re: Jem Food Chain

Can we all at least agree that a 777LNG is at the top of the food chain?

I must agree! However, the jem that is at the top of the food chain is the one that you own for years, is broken in, has a few battle scars, and is a work horse for your music. To me that would be at the top of the food chain for jems. To me there is nothing like a broken in guitar.

Re: Jem Food Chain

all the jem series are fantasic guitars, some are more sort after due to rareity and some have more interesting colours.its a personal thing, personaly the desert yellow colour just blows me away and is the coolest colour for a guitar.im also a big fan of the 77pmc,man what a stunning looking axe that is,but the chances of me getting one is about the same chance as me getting to the moon on a step ladder lol.you got to give the 7vwh a mention, its the best sounding jem ive played.as for bottom of the range jems 333 555 well lets be honest they arent in the same leauge.the 7 77 777 jems are the real deal, the 333 n 555 are in my book just copies of these fine guitars.
