Jem Hardtail info

Hi All! I just recently took over as manager of a very large music store. In stock we have a Jem that is rather odd to me. I have personally owned several Jems (still looking for a shocking pink one in players condition I might add...I digress). This one however is a hardtail and does not have an edge tremolo. It's black with a chrome pickguard and the Vai graphic. 24 fret with the vine inlay all the way. Scalloped 21-24. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find some info on this guitar? It has apparently been in this shop for a long time and needs a home so the more info I can gather the better chance we have of moving it. Thanks for all your help in advance!

Post a picture dude, or get someone to host them for ya. Will be easier to tell what it is if we can see it.
Cheers.

Re: Jem Hardtail info

It's the fixed bridge Jem that was released in '09, I think. Google it and you'll find it easy.
It went over like a lead baloon which explains why it's in your store. That graphic is hideous in person, no? I still say it would have moved much better without it.

It's exactly the reason I passed on it... It was a great idea. I just couldn't get over that graphic. I had other fixed bridges to play, so it would've bene one of those "just buy one to have" things. But no way after seeing it. lol

Re: Jem Hardtail info

Can't seem to get any pictures to load and we can't access things like photobucket at work so I'll have to play with it some tomorrow.

It was a bomb huh? Guess that is why we are still sitting on it. Not sure what these sold for but I'll have to take a bloodbath in it I guess. The problem is that the store owner won't really let us screw with the prices much.

Thanks for all the info guys! Much appreciated!!

Re: Jem Hardtail info

if they listened to the general public and put the fixed edge in it so they could still have the claw and no hideous graphic the guitar would of sold.

Re: Jem Hardtail info

It seems the RG1451 is doing okay. It's the poor-man's fixed bridge Jem.

I still don't see why they didn't make something like this.

But then I'm ....

Here's a body shot with the graphic. Is this what we all are talking about?

Thanks for all the input. Guess it'll sit here then. That's kinda sad. It really plays and sounds amazing.

Re: Jem Hardtail info

I actually don't think it's the ugliest guitar I've ever seen. At the same time not the best one either. I guess that's why there's chocolate and vanilla...right?
