The Jem hooked me........

I went through top of the line guitar models from nine other brands before giving Ibanez a try by buying a brand new Jem. Needless to say, I haven't been able to play as well on any other guitars besides Ibanez since, and realized that these guitars and necks were what I had been missing out on all of my life. But, it is not only neck shape and thickness, it is also string spacing. Doing some measuring today on my other guitars, the strings are spaced closer together than on Ibanez, and this includes guitars with original Floyd Rose bridges. Due to muscle memory and such for someone endlessly working on picking technique,,,,,,,,is it even really possible to switch to different guitars easily when the string spacing isn't even the same? Anyone else encounter this? Just doesn't seem like it physically can work. I find that my pick just doesn't fall right when trying to play my "non Ibanez" guitars, and it really makes it hard not to play sloppy.

Welcome to the crowd of other Jem nuts like myself. I only own one true Jem and a clone that's equally as good but they're among the best guitars I've ever played. The sexiest too.

I built my own Ibanez style neck and spaced it even wider at the nut. It is unbelievably nice to play.
