Jem JR What can you say about it

Hello:

I was checking the Ibanez catalogs from different countries and I noticed that most of South America and Asia has a less expensive Jem called Jem JR. I verified and they are originals, made in either Korea or Indonesia. Their price tag if we do a currency conversion is around $600.00 us.

Are this of similar craftmanship as the Ibanez RG4EXQM1? I tried that one and I liked it. I think it is great for the price.

I'm thinking about getting one of those. Please let me know your opinion.

Its an RG350 without the monkey grip and twice the cost. You do the math.

Does the RG350 has an Edge 3 tremolo too?

So they are charging $300 just for carving the monkey grip? I think a local luthier can do it for less.

Yes. The rg350 and 333's are probably the same guitar, built in the same factory. Has the same tremolo, same wizard II neck, same hardware, same pickups, same colors... etc. The rg350 has a bound neck and sharfin inlays which I dislike, but some like it.

Seriously, having the name "jem" on the headstock is cool, but if you cant stretch to a 555, dont bother . If you are looking at spending 600$, Id suggest trying to find a used rg550 or 540R.

Re: Jem JR What can you say about it

I found out something very wrong with my PGM. I guess I'm not buying anything new and invest my savings in repairs. No Korean/Indonesian Jem for me I guess.

I will post a new thread about it.
