JEM RMFE? - Could be neat

NOTE - Before I begin, understand this is NOT an advertisement of a new JEM model, simply an idea.

How many people out there would buy a JEM RMFE (Rhythm Model Fixed Edge)? *Would have high-output p-ups, fixed edge bridge, mahogany body...what do you think? *I'd buy it, would be pretty cool. *I'd have suggested a UV RMFE, but it would have, in the long run, ended up a Dino Cazeres model. * *Although that too would be very cool.

JEM and a fixed bridge? Sounds like an oxymoron to me.
No, thanks. Not for me.

lol *I know, a fixed bridge JEM does seem a little like a baseball player with his arms in casts, but I figured at least a few people would be interested in a JEM that play rhythm guitar more than lead, or simply don't use the bar much. *I know I would be interested in one.

how many times are we gonna kick this dead horse? *fixed bridge Jem or UV, they have them, they're called RG's. *I still don't get the point of the fixed edge, seems silly to me, get some good locking tuners, my Parker stays in tune as good or better than my Jems, and it's a floating trem with locking tuners. *You're probably gonna pay more for a fixed edge than a floating one for crying out loud. *

I can say one thing, if they did a fixed bridge jem, it'd still cost Jem prices, so get an RG and put some dimarzio's in it!!!

Sorry for the rant, I'm tired and cranky and a Jem without a trem is like a peanut butter and jam sandwich without the peanut butter.

I would'nt buy it either. If I wanted a fixed bridge, I'd take my Les Paul out of it's case. One of the main reasons why I got into Jems, other than playability and sound, was the Lo-Pro. It's simply the best trem that I've ever played. Also, my Parker Fly stays in tune as well as any of my Jems. --rvj

I agree with rvj, if I want a fixed bridge I would go for a Les Paul-kinda guitar.

See, my main logic goes like this:

1) *I prefer the "strat" shape over everything else.

2) *I can't stand the Les Paul neck.

3) *I prefer the Ibanez strat style shape over all other companies.

4) *Chances of a Fixed-Edge in a standard RG model are slim.

5) *JEMs look cooler than RGs. *

i agree with lgm. a fixed edge is unnecessary. even with standard tuners, a fixed bridge with a well setup nut stays in tune great. i suppose the string thru design has more sustain (obviously i haven't played a fixed edge)

I agree that a fixed bridge sounds good... *How many players block the floyd on there guitars..
I would like to see a Jem with a fixed bridge and maybe a swamp ash body with a three tone sunburst and a pearl pickguard... I hate strats but I think the whole sunburst thing is cool..
